May13 2024: The Judiciary has this afternoon received at least 80 new security officers who are going to be deployed as home guards for Judges and different court stations.

The group was received by the Judiciary Police Commander, SP Ngabiirwe Stephen.

While receiving the officers, Mr Ngabiirwe thanked the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr Pius Bigirimana for following up with the Inspector General of Police to ensure that the Judiciary gets additional manpower.

"On Wednesday, I am retiring a happy man. Some Judges had lost trust in me because they thought I was not fulfilling the duty of giving them security guards. But with this deployment, all those(Judges) who didn’t have guards are now going to get," he said.

SP Ngabiirwe said the new officers were drawn from different specialized units of the Ugandan Police Force following their Crisis Response Training course at the Counter Terrorism Police Training School in Olilim, Katakwi District.

He urged the new officers to maintain discipline, teamwork, and vigilance.
